Meet The Team: Emma-Louise Adams
Hello! My name is Emma-Louise and I’m so excited to be a new member of the Nora & Luna team. I was introduced to the blog by Anna, who also writes here, and have been admiring the vintage aesthetic and beautiful writing for some time, so it’s fabulous to join the team as a poet and occasional art writer.
I’ve been writing seriously for around a year now, mostly in small lit mags where I contribute both experimental poetry and creative non-fiction articles around disability. On this blog I’m going to be starting an ekphrastic poetry series – a fancy Greek word for poetry written as a response to art, combining two of my passions. I’m really lucky to live in a city surrounded by amazing art and culture events, so you might see the odd review of those from me too!
I’m a 20-year-old history undergraduate at a university in the north of England – it’s hundreds of miles from the tiny village where I grew up, but I definitely consider it my home. I’m hoping to continue my interests in activism (particularly around disabled and LGBT+ issues), writing, and academia after I graduate, as I’m certain the traditional 9-5 lifestyle is not for me, and I don’t think the menagerie of animals I plan on adopting would appreciate that either. As well as art and writing, I also run a choir and am learning Latin dance through my university, so my life is a busy but beautiful one!
I can’t wait to get writing and producing new content for all of you at Nora & Luna! Until then, you can find out more about me and my work through my Twitter @elaecrire.
